Supported Independent
Living (SIL)

HiFive Newcastle offers Supported Independent Living, a kind of support provided to NDIS participants to help them live independently in shared accommodation. Our support includes help with daily activities, community engagement, and skill development. Our goal is to help people with disabilities live independently.

What do we offer?
HiFive Newcastle offers assistance in personal care, cooking meals, grocery shopping, medication management and administration, keeping your home safe and tidy, and transportation to and from appointments. We facilitate participants with SIL Homes
and provide:

  • Help with personal care.
  • Help develop your skills in things like meal preparation and cooking, cleaning, and developing a routine.
  • Help to implement any behaviour support plans you have.
  • Help you develop your social skills.
  • Support supervision, personal safety, and security.
  • Support to give you your medication.
  • Support for medical appointments
  • Community access that is not routine or regular, for example, support to complete personal tasks.
  • Help get to and from community access activities, if you prefer. For instance, help attend hydrotherapy sessions or visit family or friends outside the home.

Short-Term
Accommodation (STA)

HiFive Newcastle provides short-term accommodation (STA) for NDIS participants who wish to stay somewhere different and take a break from their usual home. Short-Term Accommodation (STA) is NDIS-funded housing that provides a place to stay for a limited time, allowing you and your loved one to relax. STA is funded through your NDIS plan’s Core Budget. This includes your accommodations, personal care assistance, meals, and other activities agreed upon with your provider.

What do we offer?
HiFive Newcastle’s modern and cosy accommodations provide a relaxing environment where you can try new things. Enjoy living close to all amenities while your carer can take a break, recharge, or attend to other responsibilities. Our STA homes offer:

  • Fully accessible with features designed to meet your support needs.
  • A high-quality team is available to help with personal care and other activities.
